Graphic Design and Illustration

New Poster: Indigo Radiation

A self-initiated project of experimentation using vectors and photographs, mixing them together using photoshop and illustrator.

One of my big inspirations whilst doing this piece was Joao Oliveira and his work, definately check out his work. The concept here is visually represented in the mixing of the  colours blue and purple.

For more on this piece of work please check out my Portfolio and Behance

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trilogy Posters

I am a big fan of Harry Potter (who isn’t right), well today the final movie installment “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits stores on DVD and Blue Ray so naturally being very excited I wanted to do something HP related and surrounding the Deathly Hallows. I had a lot of fun with this project and even though I have been sitting on it for a while I am happy to final get it out.

Happy Halloween from Darko Design

Halloween has to be one of my favourite holidays. Dressing up in costumes, ghouls, witches and the whole magically feel of the night. So with that said may your night be filled with many tricks and plenty of treats. And for those staying in I highly recommend Monster Madness at Cinemassacre with James Rolfe to get you in the mood.

In memory of Steve Jobs

There are very few of us that can say we weren’t touched by Steve Jobs and Apple in some way. This is just my little tribute to him.

Inspiration: Jessica Hische

I have always been an admirer of good typography and it’s application in art and design. Typography can, in an instant help gauge a piece of art/graphic with a time period and evoke a emotional reaction. It is often said that a picture speaks 1000 words, well I say a word can speak 1000 more words. Jessica Hische is one of those people whose work illustrates this beautifully. She has gone on to build an extensive portfolio and has worked with some of the world’s most renowned brands and most recently gave a talk at FOTB in the UK.

If you haven’t checked out her amazing work then what are you waiting for? Get going to Jessica Hische’s website http://jessicahische.is/awesome. She also has a few other on-going projects like Don’t Fear the Internet which I highly recommend for newbies to the world of HTML and CSS.
